2005-06 Topps Basketball Jay-Z #255 Rookie Card New Jersey Nets

2005-06 Topps Basketball Jay-Z #255 – New Jersey Nets

One of the more unexpected cards in the 2005-06 Topps Basketball set, #255 features Jay-Z during his tenure as part-owner of the New Jersey Nets.

The card shows Jay-Z courtside with the Nets and has become a popular crossover collectible among basketball-card, hip-hop, and music memorabilia collectors. Although commonly referred to by collectors as Jay-Z's rookie card, it comes from a basketball release rather than a traditional entertainment-card set.

It's an unusual little intersection of NBA and music history—and considerably more interesting than the price of the card might suggest.
