A little geometry, a little magic, and a whole lot of winter charm.
The Winter Solstice Icosahedron DIY Ornament Kit is a hands-on paper craft designed for anyone who loves making something beautiful from simple shapes. Each kit includes twenty 2" circles — letterpress printed in midnight blue and golden yellow inks on a mix of softly toned cover papers (misty blue, buttercup, placid lake, and steel blue). Folded and assembled, they transform into a gorgeous 3D ornament inspired by celestial shapes and long winter nights.

Perfect as a holiday activity, a mindful craft moment, or a clever gift topper, this ornament comes together with scissors, glue, and a scoring tool (or a butter knife in a pinch!). Full illustrated instructions walk you through each step. Once completed, the ornament measures approximately 3.5" and hangs from the included ribbon.

A true labor of love from the printshop — thoughtful, tactile, and deeply satisfying to make.

A celestial craft for winter nights — beautiful to assemble, lovely to give, and even better to display.

Born from an 1100-lb Chandler & Price press and the kindness of friends, Blackbird Letterpress has grown from a tiny back-room printshop in Louisiana into a bustling studio powered by vintage presses, rescued type, and two famously frisky guard dogs. Their work carries the feel of hand-set type, Southern resourcefulness, and that particular magic that happens when ink, paper, and a little grit turn into something beautiful.
