Riath Burgess thought he'd found the deal of a lifetime.

The house beside Raincroft Cemetery was a bargain. Unfortunately, there appears to have been some fine print.

In House of Cursed Things, your party is hired to enter Raincroft Manor, investigate its collection of cursed objects, and unravel the game left behind by a necromancer who wasn't particularly interested in explaining the rules.

What begins with a strange request leads through hidden contracts, unsettling discoveries, and the halls of a house where seemingly ordinary objects may be anything but. Your players will need to investigate, solve puzzles, and figure out the rules of the necromancer's game before those rules figure them out.

Designed as a Dungeons & Dragons 5e one-shot, the adventure can be played as a standalone mystery or dropped into an existing campaign when the party could use a particularly unfortunate piece of real estate.

What’s Inside

Adventure summary and introduction to get the mystery underway.

Three connected scenes take the party from an unusual request through the discovery of a hidden contract and into Raincroft Manor itself.

Ground- and second-floor maps provide the layout of the manor for exploration.

Location descriptions give the GM the information needed to guide players through the house and its secrets.

Cursed objects, puzzles, and mysteries give the party something considerably more complicated than monsters to contend with.

Why We Love It

The house itself is the problem. Rather than simply filling a spooky building with things to fight, House of Cursed Things asks players to investigate what happened and understand the strange game they're caught inside.

Nobody gave you the rulebook. The necromancer's unexplained rules turn discovery and deduction into part of the danger.

It's built for one night of trouble. Run it as a standalone horror-mystery session or slip Raincroft Manor into an existing 5e campaign.

That suspiciously good real-estate deal has consequences. Somewhere, Riath Burgess is presumably reconsidering his inspection contingency.
