Eight feet of creatures that definitely, probably, maybe exist.

The Cryptids of North America Paper Garland gathers legendary creatures from forests, lakes, mountains, and roadside folklore into one wonderfully strange illustrated procession. Sasquatch, Ogopogo, Jackalope, Champ, Old Ned, and other mysterious beings make their way along approximately 8 feet of paper garland—ready to haunt a bookshelf, game room, cabin, reading nook, creative studio, or tabletop space.

Even the packaging gets in on the mystery, with a cryptid chart on the reverse that turns the whole thing into something of a miniature folklore field guide.

Hang it somewhere cozy, consult the chart, and remain appropriately suspicious of unexplained noises in the woods.

Why We Love It

It feels like the gift shop of a very charming roadside cryptid museum—and we mean that as the highest possible compliment. We love the mix of folklore, naturalist curiosity, and creatures we're pretty sure aren't hiding behind the next tree. The cryptid chart on the package makes the whole thing even better.

Why We Love the Maker

Hissing Mink creates colorful, quirky paper goods and small home treasures inspired by the flora, fauna, folklore, and ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest.

Designed, made, and packaged on Mayne Island in British Columbia, their work lands somewhere between a field guide, a folklore collection, and a wonderfully peculiar little curiosity shop. We especially love their attention to the wild things that are easy to overlook—from wetlands and shorebirds to native plants, tide pools, woodland creatures, and the occasional cryptid.
