Build the world together. Roll the dice. See where Hope and Fear take the story.
Daggerheart is a fantasy tabletop roleplaying game from Darrington Press, designed for character-driven adventures, collaborative worldbuilding, and the unexpected turns that happen when a story belongs to the whole table.
The system is approachable enough to begin learning quickly, with plenty of depth for long-running characters and campaigns. Player abilities live on beautifully illustrated cards, keeping important information close at hand while leaving more room for the story happening around the table.
What Sets Daggerheart Apart
Hope & Fear shape every roll. Daggerheart uses two d12s—one representing Hope and one Fear. Add them together to determine the outcome of an action, then see which die rolled higher. A roll with Hope can give players a resource to power future abilities; a roll with Fear gives the GM opportunities to introduce new challenges and complications.
The world belongs to everyone. Players and Game Masters collaborate in building characters, communities, worlds, scenes, and adventures rather than leaving all of the storytelling work on one side of the screen.
Cards keep abilities close at hand. Ancestry, Community, Subclass, and Domain cards put character information and abilities directly in front of players, paired with artwork that helps bring the world to life.
Inside the Rulebook
The nearly 300-page illustrated hardcover rulebook includes rules for creating characters and a shared world, playing adventures, and building encounters and campaigns as a Game Master.
You'll also find guidance for GM craft, player best practices, worldbuilding, campaign building, and examples of play, along with adversaries and environments ready to challenge your characters—from the Immortal Crab of the Solsunk Sea to the intrigue of the Baronial Court.
Inside the Card Box
A separate magnetic-clasp box holds 279 illustrated cards, including:
18 Ancestry Cards
18 Community Cards — two sets of nine
54 Subclass Cards
189 Domain Cards
Together, the rulebook and card set give the table the tools to create characters, build a world, and find out what happens when Hope and Fear get involved.
