Berlin. The Cold War. A city full of secrets—and absolutely no one you can safely trust.
Death in Berlin is a solo roleplaying game that casts you as an intelligence operative navigating one of the great centers of 20th-century espionage. Working for your chosen intelligence service—whether from patriotism, duty, ambition, or something rather less noble—you'll follow narrative prompts, uncover conspiracies, and make decisions in a world where information is power and nothing is quite what it seems.
There are no mobile phones to call for help. No internet to search for answers. Just your investigation, your instincts, and whatever the cards and dice put in your path.
To play, you'll need the rulebook, a standard deck of playing cards, a set of polyhedral dice, and your imagination.
Why We Love It
Solo RPG, completely different flavor. This swaps fantasy quests for Cold War espionage, giving solo players a wonderfully different kind of story to inhabit.
Low-tech spying makes everything more interesting. Without smartphones and instant information, finding—and deciding whether to trust—what you know becomes part of the adventure.
The story emerges as you play. Narrative prompts, cards, dice, and your decisions combine to build an espionage story that isn't already written for you.
A small setup with lots of storytelling potential. A rulebook, playing cards, polyhedral dice, and one suspicious mind are all you need.
