Every good wizard deserves an unlikely companion.
Inspired by spooky season—and Natalie Andrewson’s enduring wish for more Gandalf-style witches befriending unexpected creatures—Dragon Witch imagines bats as tiny dragons and sends them flying alongside their witchy companion.
Originally created for Giant Robot’s Flying Creatures show, the piece brings together witches, dragons, friendship, and just the right amount of autumn strangeness.
Hand printed by Natalie Andrewson in her Los Angeles studio, this three-color Risograph layers blue, yellow, and fluorescent pink inks for bold, glowing color.

Why We Love It
Honestly, we're with Natalie on this one: fantasy could use more powerful witches making friends with peculiar little creatures. And turning bats into dragons is an excellent place to start.
About the Risograph Process
Risograph printing is delightfully imperfect. Each color is printed separately, so slight shifts in registration and occasional roller marks are a natural part of the process. These variations give every print its own character.
About the Artist
Natalie Andrewson is an illustrator, cartoonist, and printmaker known for vibrant, narrative Risograph prints. Inspired by the fantasy and folklore she grew up with among the creeks and woods of North Carolina, she now lives and works in Los Angeles, printing from her Atwater Village studio.
