The Sword Coast was only the beginning.

Go farther into the Forgotten Realms with Adventures in Faerûn, a Dungeon Master-focused campaign expansion packed with settings, adventures, maps, monsters, and tools for building stories across Faerûn.

From Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale to Calimshan, the Moonshae Isles, and the Dalelands, this 288-page hardcover gives DMs ready-to-use material for expanding an existing campaign—or building an entirely new one from the ground up.

Run the included adventures. Borrow a location. Drop in a monster. Follow the players somewhere you absolutely did not expect them to go.

Faerûn can handle it.

Five Regions to Explore

Adventures in Faerûn takes your table beyond a single corner of the Forgotten Realms with five campaign backdrops, each providing setting information and guidance for building adventures within some of Faerûn's most iconic regions.

Explore:

Baldur’s Gate

Icewind Dale

Calimshan

The Moonshae Isles

The Dalelands

Use one as the foundation for an entire campaign or let your adventurers wander between them.

Adventures When You Need Them

Alongside its setting material, the book includes an introductory adventure for levels 1–3 plus 51 short adventures designed to be dropped into play.

Together, the material supports adventures spanning levels 1–15.

That makes this a particularly handy book for DMs who like having something ready when the party ignores the obvious plot hook, follows an interesting rumor, or becomes emotionally invested in an NPC you named twelve seconds ago.

In other words: normal D&D.

Maps, Monsters & More for the DM

There is plenty here to pull directly onto the table:

51 illustrated maps

39 monsters & villains

Five campaign backdrops

51 short, drop-in adventures

An introductory adventure for levels 1–3

Advice for running campaigns in the Forgotten Realms

Use the book as a campaign foundation, a source of side quests, a setting reference—or your emergency supply of I absolutely planned this.

Pair It with Heroes of Faerûn

Adventures in Faerûn is the Dungeon Master-focused half of the Forgotten Realms expansion.

Pair it with Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn, the player-focused companion, for additional character options and ways for players to build heroes rooted in the Realms.

You don't need both books simply to appreciate this one, but together they give both sides of the table more ways to explore Faerûn.

Why We Love It

It's built for actual campaign life. Sometimes you need a sweeping setting. Sometimes you need an adventure for the place your players decided to visit five minutes ago.

The regional variety is fantastic. Icewind Dale and Calimshan alone can produce radically different adventures, and that's before anyone gets near the Moonshae Isles.

51 short adventures is a serious GM resource. There's a lot here to borrow, adapt, rearrange, and quietly pretend you had planned all along.

It encourages wandering. And we have a well-documented weakness for RPG books that give players somewhere interesting to go and then get out of their way.

About Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons has been bringing adventurers together around the table for generations, creating worlds built from imagination, collaboration, improbable plans, and the occasional spectacularly unfortunate die roll. The Forgotten Realms is one of its most enduring settings—a sprawling fantasy world filled with cities, wilderness, factions, legends, and considerably more places to explore than one adventuring party could reasonably reach.

Go ahead. Leave the Sword Coast.
