Beyond a Single Encounter

Although created for Humblewood, these creatures don't need to remain there.

Use them as their intended creatures in a Humblewood campaign, substitute them for similar beasts in another fantasy adventure, or simply keep a useful assortment of wildlife and monsters ready for whatever encounter your players stumble into next.

The Ash Snake's Huge Base and the Large Base creatures also give GMs physical representations for encounters that need something with a little more presence on the battle map.

Why We Love Them

They make the Wood feel wild. Not every encounter needs another bandit or villain. Sometimes the wilderness itself should have teeth.

You get a useful range of creatures. A huge serpent, larger predators, and flying swarms give the set more versatility than five variations on the same monster.

They're easy to reuse. These may be Humblewood creatures, but forests and mountains throughout the multiverse have plenty of room for prowlers, lions, bats, and very large snakes.

There are two Ember Bat Swarms. Because apparently discovering one swarm wasn't sufficiently inconvenient.
