A little walk through the woods, one mushroom at a time.

Inspired by the mushroom-filled forests Shelley Couvillion discovered after moving to Tennessee, Mushrooms in Autumn Washi Tape captures the tiny treasures hiding along an autumn woodland floor.

Against a deep, nearly black background, hand-drawn mushrooms, slender grasses, leaves, and other forest details appear in warm earthy reds, oranges, and soft natural tones. The result feels less like a repeating pattern and more like a miniature nighttime nature study.

Use it in journals, sketchbooks, planners, correspondence, collages, nature notes, or anywhere that could use a little more forest undergrowth.

Why We Love It

We have a documented weakness for mushrooms.

But this one earns its place beyond the obvious Rogue & Rye fungal bias. We love the almost field-guide quality of Shelley’s delicate drawings against that dark ground—it feels like peering down at the forest floor on an autumn evening and noticing all the little things growing there.

And after Packwood, we have considerably more evidence that our people are mushroom people. 🍄

About Shelley Couvillion

Shelley Couvillion is an illustrator and designer whose work draws from books, folklore, history, nature, and wonderfully specific bits of cultural ephemera. Her stationery and paper goods have the feeling of tiny illustrated discoveries—sometimes literary, sometimes peculiar, and frequently both.
