Mamuanna — Risograph Print (11.5" x 11")

Mamuanna holds a special place in the artist’s heart—one of the very first images created for Natalie Andrewson’s long-running comic project. Originally printed during her 2016 residency at the SVA RisoLAB, this piece marked a breakthrough moment in her understanding of layering values to expand a Riso color palette.

Now lovingly reprinted with the inks she uses in her own studio, this three-color Risograph print brings renewed vibrancy and depth to a foundational artwork.

About the Risograph Process

Risograph printing builds color layer by layer. Because each ink pass is applied separately, subtle shifts in registration and occasional roller marks are completely natural. These charming quirks make every print unique—a small variation shaped by the handmade process and the machine itself.

“Natalie Andrewson is an illustrator, cartoonist and printmaker specializing in vibrant, narrative Risograph prints. Her work is inspired by fantasy and folklore she grew up with in the creeks and woods of North Carolina. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California, and prints and ships out of her studio in Atwater Village.”
