The Night Parade – Large Woodfolk Riso Print by Natalie Andrewson

“The Woodfolk come out when the veil is thin, to celebrate the mountain and all the life it sustains.”

Deep beneath the mountain, ancient creatures gather energy trapped when the land first collided and rose. They carry its glowing orbs through valleys and hollows, bringing long life to those who drink from them and lighting the way toward the Feast of the Forest.

There, spirits, demons, witches, fairies, druids, and other Woodfolk gather for summer ales and stews in celebration of the mountain and the balance of life it sustains.

Should you happen upon the Night Parade, however, admiration from a distance is advised. An invitation to join the feast may sound terribly sweet—but accepting could mean a thousand years in the fairy realm while the world you knew turns to dust.

Hand printed by Natalie Andrewson in her Los Angeles studio, this large three-color Risograph layers fluorescent pink, blue, and yellow inks to give the procession its extraordinary otherworldly glow.

Why We Love It

This is Natalie’s worldbuilding at full strength. You can almost follow the glowing procession right into the woods—and the longer you look, the more tempting that extremely inadvisable invitation to the feast becomes.

About the Risograph Process

Risograph printing is delightfully imperfect. Each color is printed separately, so slight shifts in registration and occasional roller marks are a natural part of the process. These variations give every print its own character.

About the Artist

Natalie Andrewson is an illustrator, cartoonist, and printmaker known for vibrant, narrative Risograph prints. Inspired by the fantasy and folklore she grew up with among the creeks and woods of North Carolina, she now lives and works in Los Angeles, printing from her Atwater Village studio.
