A bright little robin, made one tuft of wool at a time.

The British Birds – Red Robin Needle Felting Craft Kit from The Crafty Kit Company is a beginner-friendly project for creating one of Britain's most familiar garden birds from soft Corriedale wool.

Using a simple internal structure, you'll gradually shape your robin's rounded body and add that unmistakable red-orange breast, along with glass eyes and the small details that bring your bird to life. Full-color step-by-step instructions guide you through the process from loose wool to finished robin.

Designed as a Beginner-level project, the kit takes approximately two hours to complete and produces a robin around 13 cm tall—an approachable introduction to three-dimensional needle felting or a satisfying afternoon project for someone who already knows the basics.

Why We Love It

Robins don't have to wait for December.

They're wonderful little birds all year long, and we're not about to confine this one to the holiday craft box simply because he happens to look particularly handsome near an evergreen.

Like the other beginner projects in the British Birds collection, the robin gives you a manageable way to practice building shape, layering wool, and adding recognizable details in about two hours.

And that bright breast makes the transformation particularly satisfying. A little color goes on, and suddenly the pile of wool looking back at you is unmistakably a robin.
