Summer Dragon celebrates one of late summer’s great rewards: ripe, juicy stone fruit—and the friendly dragon who has apparently arrived to share in the harvest. Bright fruit, fantastical company, and saturated color give this print the warm, abundant feeling of summer at its peak.

Hand printed by Natalie Andrewson in her Los Angeles studio, this three-color Risograph layers blue, yellow, and fluorescent pink inks to create its radiant summer palette.

Why We Love It

There is something very reasonable about a dragon knowing exactly when the stone fruit is ripe. We love the abundance in this one—the fruit, the color, and the feeling that everyone showed up at precisely the right moment.

About the Risograph Process

Risograph printing is delightfully imperfect. Each color is printed separately, so slight shifts in registration and occasional roller marks are a natural part of the process. These variations give every print its own character.

About the Artist

Natalie Andrewson is an illustrator, cartoonist, and printmaker known for vibrant, narrative Risograph prints. Inspired by the fantasy and folklore she grew up with among the creeks and woods of North Carolina, she now lives and works in Los Angeles, printing from her Atwater Village studio.
