The Cosmos is Natalie Andrewson’s vibrant tribute to Carl Sagan and Contact, bringing the wonder, curiosity, and enormous scale of Sagan’s cosmic storytelling into four layers of saturated Riso color.

Printed in bubblegum pink, sunflower yellow, mint, and black, the 11" × 17" piece was originally produced by Secret Room Press in Portland for its Life on Earth group show.

About the Risograph Process

Risograph printing is delightfully imperfect. Each color is printed separately, so slight shifts in registration and occasional roller marks are a natural part of the process. These variations give every print its own character.

About the Artist

Natalie Andrewson is an illustrator, cartoonist, and printmaker known for vibrant, narrative Risograph prints. Inspired by the fantasy and folklore she grew up with among the creeks and woods of North Carolina, she now lives and works in Los Angeles.
