All sailors fear the tales of Uk’otoa, the all-seeing Great Leviathan beneath the sea. Unfortunately for you, the tales are true.
Your ship is already wreckage. Uk’otoa is closing in. And survival may depend on knowing exactly when to help your fellow sailors—and when to sacrifice them instead.
Uk’otoa is a fast-paced tactical game of semi-cooperative card play and nautical survival, set in the world of Exandria.
Players scramble across the remains of a destroyed ship while Uk’otoa consumes the wreckage piece by piece. Each player controls two factions shared with their neighbors, creating a wonderfully tricky problem: the sailors you need to save may also belong to someone else.
Play movement cards to reposition your factions, navigate the rapidly disappearing ship, and keep as many of your sailors out of the Great Leviathan’s maw as you can.
Cooperation will help you survive. Eventually, though, somebody has to win.
Why We Love It
The board is disappearing beneath you. Ship hexes are progressively removed as Uk’otoa devours the wreckage, so the space—and your options—shrink as you play.
Your factions aren't entirely yours. Sharing them with neighboring players creates a delicious little tension between cooperation and self-preservation.
Fast, tactical, and increasingly desperate. At 30–45 minutes, there isn't much time to get comfortable before the Leviathan starts making your decisions considerably harder.
Uk’otoa gets a miniature. A 52mm Great Leviathan looming over 25 terrified sailor meeples feels entirely appropriate.
